Premiere of the week: Wellboy’s return and the debut album of Olya Polyakova’s alter ego

Max Barskih – “Koly’e”
This is the first creative collaboration between Max Barskih and Ivan Klimenko. Work on the composition took almost a year. The song continues the sound of Barskih’s previous releases, inspired by the music of the 70s. The clip was traditionally filmed by Alan Badoev.
– I very rarely perform songs written by other authors. But with Ivan, it was interesting for me to experiment. We needed a few attempts to find the exact composition. “Koly’e” is a one hundred percent hit in my senses, my audience, and in what I would like to convey to people, — says Max Barskih.

Wellboy – “Pasazhyr”
After a break of almost a year, Anton Velboy returns with the mini-album “Pasazhyr”. Here you will find recognizable rhythms, signature ukulele, and reggaeton.
– The composition “Marina” is key in Pavlo Zibrov’s work, and it has resonated with me for a very long time. This is a certain experiment based on modern life.
The track “Pozhezha” is a groovy Cuban reggae party that I decided to give to listeners so that they can throw off their problems, forget about all deadlines, and just “chill” and not think about tomorrow.
The song “Starshaky” is a kind of guideline for young people. To remember the moments and not waste time on all sorts of nonsense. To live here and now, to dream, and to definitely act with a talented head on their shoulders. To open new horizons, experiment, and not hold yourself back.
And my main focus of the album is the track “Pasazhyr”. It is, first and foremost, about all of us. About people who are constantly rushing somewhere, getting lost between stations, but in this city rhythm, they still find time to fall in love and be together. A simple song that accompanies us in this tempo-rhythm as realistically and a little ironically as possible. Sometimes you just need to stop controlling everything and ride in a random carriage of life, which will definitely lead somewhere, — comments the artist.

Liza Bibikova, MOISHE – “Katamaran”
Liza Bibikova and Indi Khait wrote a song about their love. The video features clips from the couple’s home archive.

The Nogi – “Ne Na Chasі”
Olya Polyakova presents the debut album of her provocative alter ego The Nogi.
– The Nogi’s first album is now out and tearing up all music platforms. This is a manifesto about our present, about a knock from the abyss that flies in a known direction, and about the strength to live to the fullest right now. These tracks are for everyone who is tired of being content with crumbs. They make you want not just to survive, but to live luxuriously against all odds. So that people around point fingers and whisper: “What, it was possible like that?!” It is possible! And necessary. Because it is “time” right now! — states Polyakova.

JULIK – “Skripalka”
The song tells the story of a pianist and a violinist who find each other amidst the sounds of music. Their hearts begin to beat in unison, and the dance lasts until dawn. It’s a story about the moment when the world around disappears, and only music, glances, and love remain.
– Today, there is a lot of sadness, anxiety, and worry around us. That’s why I wanted to give people a song that would bring back the feeling of celebration for at least a few minutes. “Skripalka” is a musical escape into a world where there are dances, romance, and sincere emotions. I believe that such songs are needed now no less than ever, — shares Yulik.

IRZA and Ilienko – SAMBRERO
The sound of the track is inspired by contemporary Latin pop culture, nighttime aesthetics, and artists like ROSALÍA, Bad Bunny, and The Weeknd. The song combines Ukrainian and Spanish languages, creating the effect of an international hit and adding a special vibe to the track.

TEREN – “Pivden’-Karpaty”
– This is a song about love without the idea of “becoming the same.” About a connection in which differences do not need to be corrected. The image of the South and the Carpathians became a metaphor for two very different worlds, between which attraction still arises. This is a story about people who might never have met, but still became a home for each other, — shares singer TEREN.
