Premiere of the week: Jerry Heil’s dark disco and Olya Polyakova’s bitch-pop

Jerry Heil – Dark Disco
Listeners have been anticipating the new dance track for over two months following its premiere at the artist’s major solo show “ДЖЕРЕЛО” at the Palace of Sports. The music video was directed by Alan Badoev and continues the aesthetic of “Add volume (12 points)”.
– I’ve always wanted to create something more rhythmic, but I hesitated, worrying if it suited me. With each new work, I allow myself more freedom in music. I want my story to be an inspiration for those who are still afraid to be themselves. I am now in an era where I really want to dance, and I invite everyone to join 😉 — comments Jerry Heil.
The video consists of eight visual locations and nine looks, including outfits from Ukrainian brands FROLOV and LuVi. The FREEDOM ballet, with whom Jerry Heil has collaborated before, appears in the video’s climax.

TheNogi – “Not the Time”
Olya Polyakova has released the first single from her alter ego TheNogi, where she allows herself to swear. The singer herself calls this genre “bitch-pop”. The music video was directed by Olena Vinyarska. In it, the singer’s character, Izolda Roth, challenges societal norms.
Go f*** yourselves, this is my life
Everything is timely as long as I’m alive.

GROSU – “Just Don’t Take Away the Last Evening”
According to the artist, the song was born from reflections on how often people don’t manage to say the most important things to those they love.
– Sometimes we live as if there is still a lot of time ahead. We postpone words, meetings, hugs for later. But it is the moments with a loved one that are our true paradise. My new song is about this. About the desire to stop at least one evening when the heart says “Don’t let go” — says GROSU.

Iryna Fedyshyn – “Pressure”
The singer surprises listeners with a new provocative sound. It’s dance-pop with references to the music of the 2000s.

avispanf – “I’m Home”
This is a collaboration between a participant of the Eurovision National Selection and a gamer from Threads. Anton Panfilov, a former member of the band “Fiolet” and a two-time participant of the National Selection with Cloudless, launched his author’s project Avispanf several years ago with the participation of Serhiy Zhadan. The vocals on the new track “I’m Home” are by Yeva, a saxophonist from Uman. The musicians met on Threads.
– “I’m Home” is a song about all the inner baggage that people carry with them for years through cities, moves, relationships, and their own inner wars. For many Ukrainians, the word “home” has ceased to be something simple and obvious in recent years — and this theme is also felt in the song, — shared the artist.

TARABAROVA – “MAYBE”
This is the first song from the upcoming album, which will be released on July 3rd. It seems we can expect a new pop-dance sound.

Muayad – “Your Poison”
One of the distinctive features of the music video was the appearance of musicians who are featured alongside Muaiad on screen for the first time. The video features the star with a microphone around his neck — an award the artist received after winning the TV show “Sing All!”.
– Every new song for me is not just a release, but another step forward. “Your Poison” is the third work we have created together with Daniel Veiner. He has a very keen sense of music and helps me find that balance between Eastern sound and Ukrainian melody, which has become part of my style today, — stated Muaiad.

AVIATOR feat IGOR POTIOMKA – “On Different Shores”
The band AVIATOR continues to re-record their old hits. Twenty years ago, this song was played on every radio. Currently, the band consists of two members — Andriy Storozh and Dmytro Todoriuk. The song “On Different Shores” was recorded in collaboration with the young musician IGOR POTIOMKA.

iSKra – “Cherries and Sweet Cherries”
The winner of the show “Incredible Duets” has recorded a nostalgic song inspired by a poem by Lesya Ukrainka. “Cherries and sweet cherries, red and ripe, why did you grow so high on the branch?” — these images from children’s poetry formed the basis for the song’s creation.
– I associate Lesya Ukrainka’s poem with carefree days because in the fourth grade, you don’t pay attention to what’s happening in your life at all. The day seems endless, and every event is a small adventure. Therefore, with this song, I wanted to bring people back to that state and touch their deepest emotions, — shared iSKra.
